Doing CSS a better way

I did some research and wanted to start doing styles in a better way. This is some notes on what I did. It's Sass, Compass, Sublime and Tincr.

Compass (sass)

  • compass init
  • compass compile
  • compass watch
  • configure in .rb file (directories are set here)
  • use booth sass and compass docs to learn syntax and features

Sublime Text 2

Just install

Sublime Package Control

  • https://sublime.wbond.net/docs/usage

scss syntax highlighting

Search for Sass and install package in Sublime for syntax highlighting

Auto refresh Chrome

Tincr does autorefresh in chrome upon file changes (.css file in this case) http://tin.cr/docs.html

Result

Compass styles edited in syntax highlighted editor and chrome will autorefresh when changes are made.
